The Proposal & Engagement
A month after my birthday, I was pestering Dale that he still had not given me a birthday gift. He kept telling me "I ordered it, it's just on back order". So I waited and waited. I am college student, so while I was sitting in class one night, I texted him telling him I was having a horrible day. He replied that he finally received my birthday present. I made him promise me that I would be able to open it when I got home that night (because typical Dale would make me wait). When I got home Dale told me that I had to find the gift and then I could open it. Just like a mini scavenger hunt! When I found a small gold bag I knew it was it. I started to open it and he yelled "No! You have to come over here and sit by me when you open it!" I sat down next to Dale, opened my little gold bag, and the rest is history.

Afterwards, I found out Dale had asked both of my parents for their permission first. He also helped in designing my ring so that I would have the "only ring like it in the world".

Our rings are custom made and were both "firsts" for Chad at Patterson's in New Ulm. Dale's is a duck band, and mine has my name formed into the ring.

Our roses, done by Lisa at Hope and Faith Floral were beautiful. I also loved my Maggie Sottero dress. It was the right combination of unique, sexy, but also classy.

Some of my favorite moments were getting dressed with the help of my personal attendant, the three first looks I had with my Daddy, my brother.... and my husband. Another favorite was walking out of the ceremony and learning that our ushers surprised us by wearing part of their bunker gear to usher our guests out!
